
The Emerging Artist Award

This award honours an individual(s) who is relatively new to the professional theatre scene in the Saskatoon area and has excelled in the work they have been doing.

Emerging can be defined as trained or graduated within the past five years in the area of theatre.

This award may be presented to a member of the community from any role (directors, performers, administrators, stage managers, technicians, etc).
The Trailblazer Award
-
This award honours an individual or group in the Saskatoon area for outstanding contribution and achievement in work towards cultural change or intersectionality. They are a trailblazer in pushing for the betterment of the theatre workplace, production runs, office attitudes and environments; on the stage or off.

This award may be presented to a member of the community from any role (directors, performers, administrators, stage managers, technicians, etc).


The Artistic Excellence Award for Individuals

This award honours an individual who has excelled and produced outstanding work in their field in either one production role, or multiple.

This award may be presented to a member of the community from the following roles: directors, performers, designers, theatre devisers, fight/intimacy/dance choreographers, etc.
The Artistic Excellence Award for Organizations
-
This award honours an organization or producer who have excelled and produced outstanding work in either one production or multiple, or an initiative.

This award may be presented to single person producers as well as larger, multi-person producers or organizations.


The Technical Excellence Award
-
This award honours an individual who has excelled and displayed outstanding work in their field in either one production role, or multiple.

This award may be presented to a member of the community from the following roles: stage managers, technical directors, technicians, carpenters, props masters, etc.
The Innovation Award

This award honours an individual or group in the Saskatoon area for outstanding contribution and achievement in innovation. They are creative and have come up with new ways to make theatre, solutions to tricky problems, or have made a truly unique production.

This award may be presented to a member of the community from any background (directors, performers, administrators, stage managers, technicians, etc).

The Leadership Award
-
This award honours an individual or group in the Saskatoon area for outstanding leadership.

This award may be presented to a member of the community from any role (directors, performers, administrators, stage managers, technicians, etc).


The Production Excellence Award
-
This award honours the show or production you think was truly outstanding over the past two years. This show was of high artistic value, was well performed and well created. Consideration may also be given to the rehearsal and building period and how that portion of the production excelled.

This award will be presented to the producing company.
The Excellence in New Work Award
-
This award honours a production or show that premiered within the past two years.

This award may be presented to the playwright(s), theatre devisor(s), or collective. etc.


The People's Choice Award
-
This award honours that which the community decides needs honouring.
-
This award will be voted on and chosen by popular vote amongst the Saskatoon and area community. Once nominations are gathered, the nominees will be made known publicly and an anonymous vote which will be announced at the Gala will begin.
The Henry Woolf Continuing Achievement Award
-
This award honours an individual or group in the Saskatoon area for outstanding contribution, dedication, and achievement within the theatre community. The recipient(s) will have shown a significant contribution to theatre in Saskatoon and area.

This Award may be presented to a member of the community from any role (directors, performers, administrators, stage managers, technicians, patrons, etc). Nominations are invited from the public each year, and the SATAwards’ Steering Committee chooses the recipient.

Please keep in mind that this nomination is not for an individual’s work in a particular show that you saw – the jury will take care of that – but for continuing achievement in any area.
